[PRCo] Re: an unknown Pittsburgh coal haulage trolley line?

Well, i am as confused as ever. I didn't think it was the P&CS because its too far east, the tunnel and coal incline for that system was next to the Castle Shannon Incline. BUT there is no doubt the map shows the tunnel entrance to this thing is PRCo property. Maybe they moved the whole thing east after 1910? Maybe its a mine shaft and not a tunnel and has nothing to do with P&CS? I still submit those are catenary posts for electric locomotives, and if there is no catenary visible, its probably because it was removed as the whole thing looks pretty abandoned to me - I sure as hell wouldn't want to run a train across those tracks.

Hey, how did the P&CS get the cars through the tunnel (the one we know for sure about - above PRCos tunnel as shown in the map)? Were they pulled with a rope? How was the load transfered to the coal incline on the south side?
Regards
Alex

But navigate around the map and you will see the P&VS coming up
Haberman to the Castle Shannon incline Ed.
