The propulsion is of a semiconductor type, but I don't know any details. I
am not sure but the wheel tread brakes are for service braking and the drum
brakes for final stop & parking. The trucks came from Chicago rapid transit
cars. An interesting feature of these trucks is that they have
sprocket-wheels on gear (driveshaft) flanges - these remained in place after
motor speed sensors were removed.
