[PRCo] Re: PCCs in Operation

The exemption, as I understand it, applies to all museum equipment
which is also what allows the trolley museums not to have to rebuild
their equipment to be ADA compliant. However, the original law
(which I read) have been amended by subsequent regulations (which I
did not read). It also may have been made stiffer by local and
state rules.

Mayor Dufus of New Orleans changed the rules himself when he put the
900s from St Charles on Canal Street when it reopened after the
flood. I've not read that anyone challenged him.

Muni is making use of the ADA exemption every day on California
Street and the Powell and Mason cables. I cannot imagine that the
entire F line is not an exemption because the Milan cars, Muni 1 and
the other Iron Monsters, and the SEPTA rebuilds are clearly not ADA
compliant because they have no wheel chair lifts. Or did I miss
something, Jim?
