Certainly. I don't have the dates where I can get at them. West
Penn operated it jointly with Pittsburgh Railways until they decided
there was no practicality of join service. Might have been in the
1920s that WP pulled out but my brain could easily be addled. I
know the trackage from this intersection all the way into McKeesport
was owned and maintained by West Penn until it was absolutely clear
that they were getting out of the railway business and then they sold
it to Pittsburgh Railways. If memory serves, the transfer might
have been about 1950 or 1951. There is a picture that EHL found
in the late 1930s of a track welder and a West Penn truck on the
bridge over the Monongahela River in McKeesport. I think we might
have even used it in the display of occupations in the transit
industry at PTM about ten years ago.
There might also have been transfer reciprocity between the two
companies in McKeeport involving this line and other West Penn lines
between 1920 and 1937. Ed would know.
