[PRCo] Re: Pittsburgh - think tank blasts possible new transit taxes

Actually, when you buy gas on the Turnpike, you get hit with a double
whammy -- the regular gas tax, which goes entirely to PennDOT, plus the
concession fee for the Turnpike Commission. Gasoline is generally a dime or
so higher on the Turnpike than off; the difference sometimes becomes greater
if you go beyond the immediate interchange area.

I have a personal rule never to buy fuel on the Turnpike...I almost never
drive it all the way across to a destination, and know where to look for
competively-priced gasoline.

Fine. So when I buy gas on the turnpike it's untaxed, right?

Realize I don't actually care. I'm just turning the screws.

Is Hempfield paying for policing yet? When someone shoves it down
Hempfield's throat I'll take mine.
