[PRCo] Re: 3600 Paint Book

Highly doubtful they were 3600s  --  these were massive RR style 
vehicles.     All were burned for scrap by 1928 at Castle Shannon except 
for 3615 burned at Homewood  (1925.05.11,)  3607 burned at West Park and 
3601 (the first to be delivered on 1910.01.23)  also burned at WP and 
the Last 3600-scrapped  (1928.10.30.)

The original W&C TrolleyCars,  201--204,  were renumbered to 3551--3554 
for passenger service and 3551 was the first to be converted to freight 
service F6 on 1916.09.25.     F6 and F7 were burned at Ingram in Jan & 
Feb 1946 respectively but probably because F8 and F9 were used as snow 
plows  (converted for such in September-1943)  they were kept until 1961 
and 1959 respectively.     Don't know when PRCo adopted the maintenance 
orange paint color but the M, F, and other work cars wouldn't receive 
painting // repainting like a passenger car.     These ex-W&C cars were 
often at Charleroi - have a photo somewhere but believe it is in the 
orange about 1950--1953.

The only color notations in the paint book for 3600s apply to 3601, 3602 
and 3609 in 1926 and 1927 and show "Simplex Red" paint. Note that most 
of the 3600s were scrapped in 1924. Some were retained as maintenance 
equipment, at least temporarily. These colors may have been for 
maintenance duty. Note that the 3700s and 3750s were both on the 
property at this time and may have been sufficient for passenger service 
even though the 3800s were not yet delivered.
