We use _Run_Numbers_ in SF which identifies the Operator // Driver of the
vehicle and the schedule he uses.
.
Here in SF Trolley Coaches in Presidio start at 0001 and run through the
last number consecutively, something like 0175. Potrero TCs start at 300
and run consecutively. Diesel divisions do similarly - one will start
with 0001, another a higher number. Rails not unlike this.
.
Many systems use the _Train_Number_ Vehicle Display as that identifies the
schedule for the vehicle And includes the Route Number as well --
_Train_Numbers_ run consecutively within the route - low numbers are AM,
higher numbers are PM - used to be a difference between negative and
positive numbers as well but donut remember what that is // was~!~!~!
While my schedule has been modified somewhat, I essentially work the very
same hours / days / Days off -- but used to work Train 301 - 3-Jackson,
first vehicle out on the 3-in the AM -- just happened to be the last
vehicle in as well at 2-AM. 3001 would be the first vehicle out on the
30-Stockton and so on. PM pull-outs used positive numbers, I believe, and
would be trippers.
