Sounds much more like spin artistry doesn't it. Have you ever taken a 'guided tour' in an area you know well and listened to the myths / legends / 'lies' that are told as gospel? It's always necessary to embellish the local history isn't it. Make it controversial and interesting and paint self with flattery. Humans are the same the world over aren't they.
