Speaking of guided tours, about a year ago Fred related his experiences on a recent guided tour of India to my wife and I, and it confirmed our total disinterest in visiting that sub-continent. Much more enjoyable having our names on European regional rail passes. (a hint that there are low cost options to the Eurorail passes). As you have mentioned elsewhere, Phil, everyone has different interests.
Meanwhile, time to go back to planning our next two trips. There are some great cruise bargains (again, just a hint to others who might be so inclined) available, and have come to enjoy floating around to nowhere in particular - as long as it is warmer then Penna. in mid-January. And by then it should be time for PTM operator requalification. (again, a hint for others - PTM is always in need of volunteers)
Cheers
John

Have you ever taken a 'guided tour' in an area you know well and listened to the myths / legends / 'lies' that are told as gospel? It's always necessary to embellish the local history isn't it. Make it controversial and interesting and paint self with flattery. Humans are the same the world over aren't they.> > > Phil> > > > > > ----- Original Message ----> > From: Schneider Fred <fwschneider at comcast.net>> > To: pittsburgh-railways at dementia.org> > Sent: Friday, December 5, 2008 3:51:55 PM> > Subject: [PRCo] Indian cultural differences> > > > For those of you who did take the time to look at some of those you- > > tube videos of India, the rucus of automobile horns on the streets is > > different from here.
