[PRCo] Fw: Belle Vernon Trolley Route

My friend Dr. J. K. Folmar, President of the Mon River Buffs =
Association, (we love steamboats, too), took pictures of the trolley =
roadbed ascending from Main Street on its way up the hill to eventually =
Broad Avenue & on to Arnold City.

The ascent took place much further up Main Street than we were thinking. =
I see now there would be no need for any type of switchback to get up =
the hill considering the longitudinal distance available between Main =
street and Broad Ave at Grant Street. I tried to include a Google Map =
pointer here , but it failed. The Penn Pilot below works, but, does not =
show much.

Penn Pilot does show the old BV bridge and the now chopped off Speers =
Hill ascent  from 88. The PRRCo stop at this point was called "Belle =
Vernon".

I have been calling Broad Avenue in North Belle Vernon "State Street". I =
see it is State only in Belle Vernon and becomes Broad in North Belle =
Vernon.=20

The girder rail was extant in Grant and Broad in my day.=20
