Stepped back from a bus last night: it had nothing on the front, side read 
31D Bridgeville.

Driver stopped, and while basically everyone was getting off about 15 feet 
from me, I heard, loudly, "Fifty One A". Walked over, and yup, it was our 
bus, 10 minutes late.

Needing to stop at any stop with passengers didn't help his run time, but 
at at least one stop, the people just got on without him saying a word. 
Didn't ask, either.

That stop also had 54C service at that hour.

Body language says a lot, though.
