This is a little off-topic but I want to tell you how this demented, er
dementia, list saved the day for me. I'm half heartedly following the 65 vs
100 order thread when I decided to look at the ultimate source, Fred's PCC
book. It shows a 100 car order. Then I decided to look at Alan Lind's St.
Louis Car Company book "From horsecars to streamliners" but it was stuck to
the shelf. When I got it out I found it was all wet - literally. A bottle
of water user for the iron (arn to some of yinz) has been leaking onto the
shelf and soaked about 6 of my trolley books which are now airing out. Any
ideas on how to dry out these books?

Oh yea that book shows 65 cars on the order.

The St. Louis Car order books showed 65 cars and not 100 cars, Ed.
However, what I had there was a computer printout of data that Harold
Cox entered and not the original book so I cannot tell if it was
altered. But I suspect that you were correct that that the WPB
authorized the order first. At least that is what I had been told.
