Low 4400s came from Beaver Valley Traction Company.  The 4420s were motorized trailers, and I think were single end, at least originally.  Will have to check Bob Detrich's website.
 
One difference between 4420s and the rest of the low floor fleet is that the trailers were wider.  Interesting.
