And I suspect that some operators loved, in later years, those routes  
with double end cars because it probably gave them a lot of newspaper  
reading time.   Example, 12 EVERGREEN which made one round trip an  
hour and probably 20 to 25 minutes recovery time at the outer end  
every hour.

Shame we can't go wake up John Baxter and ask him what the average  
seniority was of the motormen on some of those lines.....

And now guys, see you round.   I'm off to the hospital for my fourth  
of fifth round of heart surgery.   Old age isn't for sissies as Rich  
Allman says.
