THIS IS FOR THOSE TWO GUYS IN FLORIDA FROM DONORA.   THE REST OF YOU  
CAN BURY YOUR HEADS IN THE SAND.

The Donora line opened from 1st and McKean to 15th and Meldon on  
December 18, 1906 and was extended to Black Diamond on November 16,  
1911.
It was abandoned because it was no longer profitable on May 16, 1953.

You guys want to me to put that into perspective?

The whole line up to Black Diamond has been around for a little more  
than 40 years.   The short portion ran for 48 years.

The Port Authority of Allegheny County has been running trolleys in  
Pittsburgh for 44 years now!   The Siemens cars have been around for  
23 years ...  The low floor cars were out in Washington PA and  
probably Donora for only about 28 years.
