Not really, Fred. I've been a public servant for nearly half my life and 
have had my heart broken by a few women before meeting Tracie.

No good deeds go unpunished and inaction as a measure of self-preservation 
isn't a practical course, either.

Therefore, reality eventually gains a foothold when romance can't carry the 
dream.

That said, I still wonder how many people trapped in "rush hour" traffic 
jams on the Edens Expressway glance over at that glorified bike trail 
beneath the power transmission lines and wonder if the CTA should have 
bought a little more of the NSL heading north from Dempster Street.
