The traffic signal cycle was GREEN to YELLOW OVER GREEN to YELLOW to
RED. No RED/YELLOW together. If it weren't for the Federal Government
"protecting" (yeh, sure) us. Pittsburgh would still have that unique
traffic signal system.
Also, during the 1970s and 80s, when I was operating cars in downtown,
the sidewalks were very crowded all through the business day. Just
like these photos. Like I said, this was in the 70s. That was just
Pittsburgh. One of the few cities which resisted killing its' downtown
until the "New World Order" decreed that urban sprawl was good for
"business".
