And there is one retired railfan who has been preaching to me for  
months about how he would never consider riding transit.   He was  
explaining how he used to live in Upper Darby and worked at 30th  
Street and simply would not even consider riding the elevated ... he  
gave me every reason in the book why but I think it boiled down to  
the "wrong kind of people" rode the el.   He also has been telling me  
how none of his tax money should ever be spent on mass transit  
because it useless.   Yet the man spent his entire life working in  
that industry!
