Worked his entire life working in the industry and wouldn't use transit, eh? 
Reminds me of the following.

During 1983, while in St. Louis, I couldn't help but notice that an employee 
lot at one of the Chrysler plants was full of Ford, GM, Japanese and German 
automobiles.
