[PRCo] Changed: army career

For those who were not in the army, the army abbreviated  
everything.   They can take a dictionary and reduce it to abbreviations.

MOS means Military Occupational Specialty.   And they couldn't  
possibly say JOB because you might understand that.

723.10.   Mean anything?

Teletype operator.   But I spent the almost the entire time working  
outside my MOS as a supply clerk.   Spent some time also working as a  
payroll clerk.

October 8 1958   Mustered in New Cumberland General Depot.
Fort Dix NJ   Reception Station by 11 pm.
About October 15, 1958   Fort Dix  Basic Training
Most following dates are approximations
December 20, 1959  Fort Gordon, GA Signal School
February 28, 1959  53rd Signal Bn, Fort Hood, TX ... killing time
      hitch hiked everywhere.   Saw El Paso, Dallas, St. Louis, New  
Orleans,
      Waco, Houston, Austin, Fort Worth, Tulsa, Sapulpa ... 6000  
miles in 5 months.
June 15, 1959 sent on leave and told to report to For Dix NJ
July 17 1959   arrived Fort Dix NJ for Processing
Left Brooklyn Army Terminal on Military Sea Transport Service
About August 1 ... tour of London in route
About August 2 1959 Bremerhaven to Kaiserslautern by train,
            bus to Pirmasens, Germany.  Roughly two years in
            514th Signal Company, Pirmasens, Germany
One month leave in August 1960 -- England, France
One month leave in June 1961 -- Switzerland, Italy
July 5, 1961 left Germany
July 17, 1961 left active duty at Brooklyn Army Terminal.
Bus to Penn Station.   PRR number 33 (St. Louisan) to
Lancaster.   Home by 4:00 PM.
