The following is Chick's comment, which will end the discussion:

Dear Ed:

Funny you should ask about that South Penn tunnel photo. Just tonight I
received in the mail from Ed Skuchas a print of that photo, and asking the
same question; Who was the other guy? The other guy in the picture is Ray
Snyder, then of Harrisburg, Lehigh 1938. Both of us were engineers working
on the Camp Hill Borough sewer construction project in 1939.

Ray went on to have a significant public works career, including a stretch
as city manager of the City of Bethlehem, and, I believe, on the faculty of
Lehigh University. Ray was one of a group of eight friends that wrote a
round robin letter through four years of college. Ray and I would see each
other now and then over the years and exchange Christmas cards The last
Christmas card I received from Ray was in 2004, so I don't know if he is
still living or not.

Don't let anyone tell you that it's Bill Shank in the picture. Ray was
about a head taller than Bill. I have a crazy picture of the two of them
wearing each other's coats, which I would send you if I knew how to do it,
but I don't. Bill was two years ahead of Ray at Lehigh, but they were
roommates for a year or two.

At some point I will send Chick an email and ask!

His comments often raise more questions without answering any.
Under the right circumstances this is comical isn't it.
Did you finally get 'your' answer? Or is it yet to be determined?
