 Surprised you didn't know this Bob. It actually happened in 1971 when the Montreal Canadiens defeated the Chicago Blackhawks at Chicago Stadium in game 7 of the finals. The Pens beating Detroit in Detroit is only the 3rd time a visiting team has ever won game 7 in the Stanley Cup Finals. There's your NHL history lesson for the day. I am a huge hockey fan as well as football.
  Me and my buddies used to ride the 42/38 alot to go see Pirates and Pens games. That was back when the Pens weren't very good and it was easy to get a ticket.
  Anyway , the Pens made quite a mark in the history books last night, didn't they? :>)

Pittsburgh has been known as the "City of Champions", not only because its 
teams won league championships, but because whenever the Pirates, Steelers 
and Penguins went to the final round - they always won the title.   This 
started with the Pirates in 1960 and continued through the early 90's. The 
streak has resumed again.

Another bit of trivia about the Stanley Cup series that ended last night: I 
heard on the radio that this was the first NHL series in nearly 50 years 
when the team with home advantage lost the final game.
