I had honestly forgotten how grungy those cars looked.  Perhaps I was  
just too naive to understand in my teens how under maintained they  
were.   It is obvious, particularly from what looks like oil spray  
from the air compressor on the side of one of the cars, that  
Johnstown Traction didn't spend a penny on repairs that were not  
absolutely necessary.   Funny thing is that I made so many trips  
there myself in those days that I recognized every place where Dick  
stood with his movie camera.
