Thanks for sharing, any or all of us who were living in the Greater Pittsburgh Area remember the "1950 Thanksgiving Snow Storm",   living at the very top of the hilll in  "Cement City" in Donora, I can remember as a 10 year old going with my Dad and brother down these narrow paths thru the snow which towered far above my head and or even my Dad's head to get to the local grocery store, back then most everyone depended on the

grocery story down on the corner for their "daily" staples, only to find they were "sold out" of most everything,

but we survived, eventually we hiked down the hill  to Donora's First Street and Mckean Avenue only to find the local street car line wasn't operating, (street was covered with snow) but a local store there had "bread" and Milk, and we trecked back up the hill to our home.   Yes I remember the Great Snow Storm!

Here's a "story-telling" memory about the 1950 Thanksgiving  Snow Storm, from today's Pittsburgh Post Gazette.
