Interesting that in 1952 Pgh retained 87% of its trolley
system;  the national average was 16% according to
the article.  Wonder what the 'X' stood for.

I found this about her:
"Established in 1994, the award was named for Anne X. Alpern,
Pennsylvania's attorney general in 1959 and the first woman 
state
attorney general in the United States."
