Library of Congress has a lot of huge downloadable images from one of the largest producers of American postcard, The Detroit Publishing Company. There are a lot of good images to be explored. If you have Detroit Pub. Co. postcards that show tiny little streetcars, you can get detailed close-ups of those very same cars from huge high res files made from the original 8x10 glass plate negs.
Some of what you can find among LCs files include several detailed images of West End Car House.
Here is a challenge for you.... See if you can find a view of a landslide covering a portion of the remaining wooden ties of the abandoned Fort Pitt Incline, in the hazy background of a view taken from Mt Washington.
In another hazy background of a view taken from Mt Washington I located the image of the abandoned cable car tracks on the portion of Wylie Ave that was too steep for the electric cars. The cast iron pulley access covers as well as the slot rails can clearly be seen.
