Mr.Josephson,

There are people right here on this list who were totally miffed
at this photo:
http://www.davesrailpix.com/pitts/htm/wvp423.htmRead back through the archives; it is tedious but very interesting.

This one also caused a stir on this list didn't it:
http://www.davesrailpix.com/pitts/htm/wvp255.htm

http://www.davesrailpix.com/pitts/htm/wvp427.htm

In the archives is a picture of an old car that no one on this list can
identify isn't there.  It is reportedly on the Interurban lines.  A PCC was
also photographed at the same location.  It is tedious trying to find the
photo in the archives.  This looks like the photo in the archives,
again, location unidentified by anyone:

There are almost as many purposely mislabeled destination signs
as correct ones, aren't there:

http://www.davesrailpix.com/pitts/htm/bvp147.htm

http://www.davesrailpix.com/pitts/htm/bvp149.htm

Purposely bogus destination signs probably predate
anyone on this list.

Some people here were all aflutter because this Interurban
was missing its pilot:
http://www.davesrailpix.com/pitts/htm/wvp230.htm

Again, some here were totally baffled as to why two
PCC interurbans were lost in the Homewood fire weren't they.

Then some don't understand why GE cars are operating on
South Hills routes in regular service, this after Keating closed.

This can cause confusion can't it:

Stranger things have happened, are happening, and
shall happen won't they.

Phil

Subject: [PRCo] Historic Chaos

I followed the debate over the apparently or possibly mislabeled photo dated
1906. The imagine could very well have been arbitrarily mislabeled. I
suspect that it has.
I possess a negative showing a Milwaukee Electric interurban on a 1948
fantrip along the Milwaukee-Port Washington line, displaying a destination
which was along a segment of another line. That stop had been eliminated
some years before the photo was taken. The negative was labeled "Waukesha
line, 1939." The shot was taken in Thiensville, Wisconsin. The white flags
on the car should have been a hint.

Now imagine the chaos this attached photo could cause in another one hundred
years if it gets into the hands of a non-Pittsburgh fan. :-)
