Well Mr. Campbell you are probably absolutely correct but my first reading
of your comments have me confused. When I get a little time I'll study what
you wrote and modify the comments on my web site. I really appreciate the
input from all of you on the list.

Subject: [PRCo] Admin bldg and crossover 44-line
Mr.Dietrich;
Looking at this photo again I realized the roof overhang is
gone isn't it. This is that Feb-1954 fantrip. I doubt the roof work
was done in Jan-1954 so this pushed back the 'remodeling.'

The first photo below is Jul-06-1952 and the overhang is gone;
this pushes remodeling back even further.
The second photo of 1715 and 1619 is just dated "1949;" I believe
that date as 1715 does not have tape on the front curve of the
monitor (I learned that clue from archive emails.)
Thus, some time between 1949 and 1952 the admin bldg was
remodeled.
I believe it is safe to say there is an abundance of junction photos
aren't there. Yet try to find one that reveals a certain piece of
information like this overhang.
I was looking at your timeline for removal of a 'crossover' on the
44-line in "South hills jct and yard." The 'tunnel' thread of emails
showed a 'classic crossover' where a turnout is placed in each of
two parallel tracks so equipment might change tracks. You
mention the inbound 44-line crosses over the outbound track to the
back track. There may be some confusion as to terminology or
the same term can be used by both engineering//construction and
operations with two different meanings. I would say the IB
44-line connection to the back track 'crosses' the other track.
You also mention that maps don't recognize an IB 44-line
connection to the back track. They don't reveal a classic crossover
either. I wonder if this 'crossover removal' could actually be
a 'crossing.' As a car is completing the curve under the 44-line
near Warrington there is a switch to a stub track. Almost
immediately is a trailing turnout whose stub has a "Crossing"
of this loop. (Calling it a 'crossover' is possible but that implies
that something else crosses 'under' thus the lines cross by
using a crossing.) This item is directly below the bldg marked
"ANNEX PLAN:"

Do you think it is possible that this is the item to be removed?
Apparently this loop was used to keep cars midday; I believe
that information is in your website.
There is a fly in the ointment for this conclusion as well. One of
the memos says headways are every 6-minutes; this implies a
crossover in the 44-line itself.
