I like a lot of those "failing" European nations.  They seem to have more
sense of identity and purpose than we sometimes do in the U.S.  Most people
who complain about them likely have never visited.

But in "the failing Socialist European Countries"  so vilified by the right
wing talking heads, the roads in general are glass smooth--and their public
transport systems work.
