So why Herb,

should you be immune from the gremlins of not being able to proofread what we write ourselves?   None of us can but few will admit it.   It probably isn't a case of not thinking but rather a case of the brain sees only what it thought it committed to paper and not what it really put there.

There is a gremlin in one of my PCC books where I moved a street in Pittsburgh to the other side of river.   I knew better.  Hell, I the street.   I knew it's name.   Afterward, I asked my co-author why he didn't correct it and his response was, "You know Pittsburgh."   I said, "Sure and you know Boston but I proofed what you wrote about Boston."   I moved Ohio Street to McKees Rocks.   But you don't see those inane things until you set the manuscript down for a year and then look at it again and then you think, OMG, did I do that?  S**t.
