Perhaps an erroneous assumption from the PRMA track map of Pittsburgh circa 1960. It shows the 56A Second Av. to Lincoln Place as still operating, and 56B no longer operating to Evans Ave. Because there is no other terminal listed for 56B, always assumed it was like the 56A - an alternate service from Pittsburgh via Second Ave., but was gone long before my time. That track map - plus Electric Railroads #20 - were my primary study material on PRC history during teen years.
