Ed is correct, although at the time the organization was known as the Pittsburgh Electric Railway Club. The museum as it now exists was then about a year and a third of age! Perhaps surprisingly, I was a bit younger too at the time, although my name has not changed.

The trip originated at Glenwood CH and proceeded into Pgh on 2nd Avenue (past the “mystery” fot location). It then went via Rt. 32 to the Point area after a brief side trip to the foot of the Castle Shannon Incline (I don’t know if via the West End Circle or directly onto the Point Bridge) and from there to Drake loop, including a move onto the stub of the interurban line at Drake-Ruthfred station. From there it traveled to Library (Simmons) thence back to Castle Shannon and 38A to Clearview loop. Not sure from my notes whether we used the 42 route or stayed on 38 to get back to the Triangle, but from there we went to the North Side, where the picture I tried to send but which Ecartis ate was taken. From the Union Avenue spur we went up Rt. 5, then back to the Triangle and out Rt. 21 to its outer end, then via Rt. 8 to Keating CH and on via Rt 10 and 15 to Bellevue, where we diverged onto the 13 line for a run to Emsworth loop. From thence it was back to the Triangle and presumably returning to Glenwood, although my notes do not reflect the latter. It is likely I alit “Dawntawn” and returned to my home in Beaver via the P&LE rather than riding back out to Glenwood and back to the P&LE station—but that part of the trip is lost in the fog of memory.

Hope this answers your inquiry, and if I can provide any further info, be glad to try.

Dwight

Mr.Lybarger,
The current picture title is not the original is it. The original stated this
car was "in Belle Vernon northbound" on Route 906(?) A couple people
wrote to the poster after discussion here and he immediately changed
the title.

It also appears to be a double exposure--on enlarging a third trolley
pole and overhead hanger floating in space are quite visible. This may
account for the strange dark sky within the triangle formed by the front
trolley pole and rope.

Do you know anything more about this charter? It does not appear to
be an early museum charter.

Phil
