That all sounds much more in line with my recollections.

Much later, in the early 2000s, I saw one of the Daylight Speedliner RDCs up 
at Lincoln, N.H., at the shops of the Hobo Railroad.  Don't know who owned 
it then or what disposition was made of it.  It may have gone into service 
on the Hobo--they had a few RDCs.
