Attached, a reduced copy of the photo and a snippet of the 1937 Pgh Planning Topo map of that intersection.

I think the four cutouts in the sidewalk shown on the map match with the four visible in the photo. That car sitting near the right side of the photo loks like my grandfather's '35 Ford coupe, which suggests a mid-30's date for the photo.
