[PRCo] More on the bridges

Attached is another photo taken by Pete Roehm on the 5/30/57 PERC fantrip to New Cas tle Jct. and the Foxburg switchback.  The four coaches and gondola car make this train easy to identify.  This photo stop l ocation was near YMCA Camp Kon-O-Kwee in Fombell which is on the B&O line between Pittsburgh and New Castle. Some of the passengers may be identifiable.

Attached is the flyer (scanned in two parts) for the PERC trip on 5/30/57.  



Also a photo taken at the New Castle Jct. stop by Pete Roehm who was act ive in PERC at that time.  In 1957 t he B&O was still operating steam locomotives on the Akro n Div. west .of New Castle Jct.  A couple of other steam locomotives can be seen in right background of the photo.

Interestingly the list notes the now gone bridge at Foxburg but fails to note that it was a combination railway and highway bridge.  The railway portion was in disuse in latter years of the bridge’s existence, but back in 1957 the forerunner of PTM, PERC, ran an enthusiast tour over the former P&W, then B&O line.  It ran from Pittsburgh to North Clarion Jct. and crossed this bridge, then ascended the Foxburg switchbacks (through the local golf course). 

I wonder how many current PTM members, beside me, were on that trip?
