[Fred Schneider]

This image in black and white in the Pflaum collection showing 1440 at night on the Crosstown line at 6th and Penn is not a Robert G Pflaum picture.   It was taken by a nineteen-year-old chap named Fred Schneider on June 17, 1959.   The slide in Pflaum collection isn't really sharp … I suspect he copied a magazine image.

Now there was a question raised about who took the picture of 1795 in a foot of snow on the Brighton Road line … I must have deleted the original message.  I do not recognize the name from our list now or at any time in the past.    Apparently John Bromley bought the original slide from one William F. Herrmann, whose name John put on the print he sold me.    It looks like it's outbound at where Corbonne merges with Brighton Road … car would be outbound.
