[PRCo] 9/5/65 - Last day for PAT trolley lines

Can’t you print it by using Print Screen?

My mother, a former school teacher in the Independence, Mo., schools, had all the Scott Forsman readers (See Spot Run. See Dick fall on his ass chasing Spot—without explanation of why Dick was chasing Spot rather than Jane). They were hidden away but I found them and had read them all in 1st grade. Consequently reading class was mega-boring. But my Mom found out I had read them and I was sworn to secrecy under penalty of death and dismemberment—or worse yet, a few licks with her infamous “Red Paddle.” So I kept my own counsel and suffered thru the class.

Fine. Here is a typed copy of what Bob found if anyone wants to hunt my typographical errors. Since I cannot print those pages, the only solution is to retype all the pages.

When you sent this I was reading through January 1947. I never read those at the time because I was in First Grade at Morrow School in Penn Township (now called Penn Hills) and the Pittsburgh Press was a little beyond my reading comprehension at the time. I might have been up to Dick falling on his ass chasing Jane down the hill but I don't think I did much more than one syllable words by the beginning of the first semester of first grade.

Funny thing about that. Now we let kids learn earlier. My great granddaughter went into kindergarten already reading elementary stories. Must have driven the teachers crazy.
