Thanks for sharing this story, etc., Bob.

I'd like to have a time machine to go back and take in all the action at Keating, Millvale, Ingram, Plummer Street, Homewood. I guess the best year for a time travel trip like this would be no later than 1950.

Matt

I believe this has been discussed recently but I just found some confirmation..

I photographed the last day of trolleys at Keating on 9/4/65, and by late that afternoon the car barn had been cleaned out, and the trolleys still running on routes 6, 8, 10, 11, 13, 14, 15 and 21 would terminate that night at Tunnel Car House.

There was a comment that a PCC remained at Keating after 9/4/65, but I never remembered seeing a trolley in the barn there after around 4PM that day. Then today I found a note that Harold Buckley sent me on 9/18/65 saying that a friend from the Washington D.C. area had chartered 1699 on Sept. 4, but at an unidentified time that day it developed an electrical fire and was left at Keating where it was "written off". He didn't say if 1699 was scrapped at Keating or taken to another rail location later.
