And after you read this, turn the page to read about the lady who builds model trolley cars. She is on page 4, column 2.
But then so do some of the other things I have been reading in 1947 such as the guy who burnt out the furniture factory on the North Side and then told the owners wife that if he had the nerve to rebuild, he will find a bullet through the brain.
In January 1947 the AFL and the CIO (this was long before they merged) were fighting over who should represent the brewers in Pittsburgh. It was called the Beer War. By January 22, it had been going on for something like 125 days. A couple of days before this one operation was dynamited over the argument.
