Interurbans *from* Pittsburgh

Greetings!

The *West Side Electric Street Railway Co.* used to run from Charleroi westbound to
Ellsworth. The same company used to run east of Charleroi across the Monongahela to Monessen and
south to Arnold.

I am getting this information from a PTM publication *Interurban Lines of the Pittsburgh
Railways Company and Connecting Lines* which shows all of West Penn, PRCo, the Butler interurbans
and lines operating along the Ohio River Valley near Wheeling Steubenville, East Liverpool,
Beaver and as far north as Youngstown. This is a map and route description showing frequency of
service and running time. This was actually published in 1925 but a few more lines which had
already been abandoned are included for historical reference.

I have a photo of 1713 northbound crossing through the switchwork of Monessen Junction
which used to carry the *West Side Electric* across the Monongahela. Date of the photo is
1949.08.22.

Don't know anything about the highway condition along 837 as I live on the other pond!
