Greetings!

	Gleanings From *Trolley Fare*
		May--1965

"Although the work on the sewer under Ross St. has been done for
several weeks, and the track for OB 53 replaced, the 53s are still using
the detour via the Smithfield St. Bridge for some reason. In the
process, both turns into erd Ave. from Ross have been removed so that it
is no longer possible to use 3rd Ave. above Grant."
"The turns used by former rt. 96 at Negley and Penn have been severed
and the overhead removed. HOWEVER, an all NEW turn is being
installed at the same corner such that a car coming in on Penn Ave. can
turn onto IB Negley Ave. This is the rumored (up til now, that is) new
routing of 82 and 87 (as well as 75) from Penn to Centre. Putting a new
switch thru a double track crossing is no simple trick. Track crews
have been at it for a couple weeks already, and the end is not in
sight. This could well be taken as a sign of prespective longevity for
rt.82."
