Proceeding south from Castle Shannon, car line swings across a road
intersection at Martin Villa (??). Looking at 1908 county map, I "suspect"
Pgh Southern went straight ahead. Why else would street be so wide? Would
railroad make such a sharp "S" curve at Martin Villa? My "suspect street"
ends in front of St. Ann's School, but would put PS on line to begin
climbing prior to Washington Jct.
Charleroi line was "first in town", so Washington line had to make a
connection. Washington Jct. serves a 'mine patch'. Then again, have been
wrong on most presumptions concerning Pittsburgh Southern!

What contemporary articles have we seen???? Anything from Street Railway
Journal??? Newspapers??? Our standard reference was published circa 1950.
On another topic, next need to copy what is available in 1902 Fayette County
History on street railways. Doesn't seem to be quite the West Penn history
I recall from CERA publication.
