These cars were completly re-built approx ten years ago and came to the
Mattapan-Ashmont line in a like-brand-new condition so as I said before
there is minimal rust damage . A similar   condition prevailed on the
Newark City Subway line ala P-R-W and one street crossing. So the
condition of these cars is identical. Besides the Boston cars are
PULLMAN cars and Newark  cars are ST. LOUIS built so Boston would have
nothing to do with any of those cars !!!  Burnt once , twice shy dating
back to their experience with the one and only St. Louis PCC , #3001 ,
THE QUEEN MARY, diverted from the Brooklyn order and an oddball with no
left hand door like every other car in Boston. Sidelined due to
electrical problems in 1947 and never run again ! Scrapped circa late
1950s .
