The single track in the tunnel was used inbound in the AM and outbound in the
PM. Warrington Avenue single track was the opposite. This gave the commuters
fast entrance to downtown in the morning rush and fast exit in the afternoon
rush. All in all, however, it could be a pain in the @$$.

Cars returning to SHJ from downtown in the morning were jammed up along
Arlington and Warrington and cars going into service heading toward downtown
in the afternoon were anticlimber to anticlimber along Warrington. The
intersection at Warrington and Arlington was a real nightmare with a line of
trolleys trying to make the left turn off Warrington onto Arlington in
addition to the heavy hilltop motor vehicle traffic.

Actually a lot of fun, if you were into PCC cars!
