Some additional notes on this subject:
- I checked a 1960s map, and see that at Keown Station (the site of the car wash I mentioned), there is a "T" intersection where Babcock Blvd. meets Three Degree Road (from U.S. Rt. 19 to the west). However, to the east of this intersection, the road is called Babcock Blvd., so it was a continuation of the north-south Babcock Blvd. Then, at the intersection with McKnight Road, the east-west road became Peebles Road, and Babcock Blvd. continued north (along the present McKnight Road alignment) toward North Park.
- There is (was) a "Peoples" Road in the area, but it's farther south and is actually called Peoples Plank Road. It runs east from McKnight Road just north of Baytree Street, so it's not too far from the route 11-Evergreen end-of-track.
- Keown Station was pronounced "Kyoo-un". My grandparents talked about riding the trolley to that stop to visit friends who met them at the station.
- Most of the newer homes in the Keown area were built in the 1940s and 1950s. However, I remember seeing a working oil well among the houses there as late as 1956.
- And, the Harmony Short Line bus garage was on U.S. Route 19 between Ingomar and Wexford, not too far from the interurban ROW.
