Looking at "Pittsburgh Then and Now", page 88 shows a
view down (ooops, dahn) Penn Avenue from Stanwix St.,
taken 20 Aug. 1933. Two bridges cross Penn, the nearer
one painted "A. L. Brahm Co." in large letters. The
farther bridge just looks grey. (There may be
something lettered on it, but in letters too small to
see, certainly not the large text noted above.)
Page 80 has a similar view along Liberty looking
toward the point taken on 27 October 1935 from Market
St. There appear to be two bridges across Liberty, the
nearer one unmarked, the farther one has the letters
"RAILROAD" painted on it.
I deleted the posts which had the pointer to the flood
postcard, so I can't check, but didn't the bridge have
the Brahm name on it? If so, I suggest the street
under all that water is Penn Ave.
