The sad thing today is that we need computers to survive.  The developed
world no longer understands the concept of manual typewriters.  I have
one electric typewriter in the house and I use it only once a year, to
fill in the 1099s and W2s for people who worked for the church during
the year.  

There are times when I miss the simplicity, just like I miss my old
twin-lens reflex that was a knock off of a Rolleiflex.  But then I also
appreciate a computer, in spite of its annoyances ("You have done an
illegal action; you should know you are not allowed to print the letter
you just wrote...").  I sometimes wonder how I survived without one.
