I have a 1957 track map of JTC trolley lines. It shows that Maple Ave. was
double track, but the bridge was single track. A printed note beside the
bridge reads, "To be double tracked in late 1957".
I always thought that this was an existing bridge that was repaved in
1957-58, and that a second track was laid on the bridge at that time. I
remember some criticism of this project because the trolleys would be
discontinued in about two years.
Or, are we discussing ANOTHER bridge on Maple Avenue?
