The trucks under the 4000s and the 4 semi-rebuilt 1700s (1713, 1737,
1745, 1765)
were a mix of original St. Louis parts and latter day Hall Industries
parts.
These were to a large extent interchangeable. PTM did not apply the
shock
absorbers to 1711's trucks, they came that way from PAT. We recently
acquired a
large quantity of spare shocks from PAT, suggesting that the application
was
anything but universal. Only some of the truck frames we acquired
during the
1998 scrapping had the shock mounts. I believe only the Hall parts that
have
that capability.

Read closely ... 1711 had St. Louis (not Hall) trucks. And also note
the contradiction: PTM did not add the shocks, they came that way, and
only Hall trucks had that capability, but only four 1700s and not 1711
had Hall trucks.
