Thanks, Fred. My first source was the Lorant book. It describes the
removal of the trainshed, viaduct and bridge after the fire, but it doesn't
give a year for the building being torn down.
I took photos during the Gateway Center construction (Buildings 1,2 and 3
were already open) in 1953, and I don't remember seeing the Wabash Terminal
building being there at that time. Gateway 4 construction started around
1957, so I assume that through most of the 1950's the site was an empty lot.
